TAHUN AKADEMIK 2012-2013
A. Latar Belakang

1. Sebagai tindak lanjut dari Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) antara pemerintah Indonesia dengan pemerintah Sudan, Universitas Afrika Internasional Khartoum akan memberikan beasiswa kepada putera-puteri Indonesia untuk bidang studi pada Fak. Syari’ah, Fak. Tarbiyah dan Adab, Fak. Ekonomi, Dipl. Tarbiyah, Fakultas Teknik dan Fak. Kedokteran.
2. Untuk mengantisipasi meningkatnya minat calon mahasiswa Indonesia ke Mesir yang tidak dibarengi dengan kualitas memadai, Kementerian Agama akan melakukan penyeleksian dengan menguji kemampuan akademik, hafalan/bacaan Al-Qur’an dan bahasa Arab, baik untuk program beasiswa maupun non beasiswa sesuai dengan ketentuan yang diberlakukan oleh Universitas Al-Azhar Mesir.

B. Tujuan

1. Menyaring para lulusan Madrasah Aliyah/sederajat yang potensial dan mempunyai bakat dan minat yang kuat dalam pengembangan keilmuan dan penguasaan bahasa Arab untuk mengikuti studi lanjut di negara-negara Arab atau Timur Tengah.
2. Mempersiapkan generasi terbaik dalam bidang ilmu ke-Islaman dan bahasa Arab dalam rangka melahirkan calon ilmuwan yang mumpuni dan memilih kapasitas keilmuan memadai.

C. Persyaratan dan Ketentuan Mengikuti Seleksi

1. Warga Negara RI yang beragama Islam.
2. Mengisi formulir pendaftaran online melalui website : www.ditpertais.net
3. Pas photo berwarna ukuran 3×4 sebanyak 2 lembar
4. Melampirkan foto copy ijazah madrasah aliyah/pondok pesantren/sederajat yang telah dilegalisir Kementerian Agama setempat dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut:
1. Usia ijazah tidak lebih dari 2 (dua) tahun.
2. Bagi yang belum memiliki ijazah (STTB), harus melampirkan surat keterangan lulus dari sekolah.
5. Bagi pendaftar beasiswa ke Sudan harus menyerahkan ijazah dan akte kelahiran yang telah diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Arab.
6. Semua persyaratan diserahkan dalam 2 rangkap.
7. Pendaftar diperbolehkan mendaftar ke Sudan maupun Mesir.
8. Semua persyaratan di atas diserahkan sehari sebelum seleksi ke lokasi ujian yang dipilih.

E. Materi Ujian

1. Ujian Tulis (menggunakan bahasa Arab) meliputi : bahasa Arab (memahami teks, tata bahasa dan insya’) dan Pengetahuan Agama Islam.
2. Ujian Lisan (menggunakan bahasa Arab) meliputi : bahasa Arab (percakapan, terjemah dan pemahaman teks) dan hafalan/bacaan Al-Qur’an minimal 2 juz;
3. Bagi pendaftar yang memilih bidang studi umum ke Sudan akan mengikuti materi ujian berbahasa Inggris.

F. Hasil Seleksi

1. Hasil seleksi beasiswa dan non beasiswa ke Mesir akan diumumkan oleh Kementerian Agama tanggal 7 Juni 2012 melalui website : www.ditpertais.net, sedangkan hasil seleksi untuk beasiswa ke Sudan diumumkan satu atau dua bulan setelah diadakannya seleksi karena kelulusannya ditentukan langsung oleh pihak Univ. Afrika Internasional Khartoum Sudan.
2. Peserta seleksi beasiswa dan non beasiswa ke Mesir yang dinyatakan lulus akan mengikuti seleksi tahap kedua di Jakarta. Pengujinya langsung dari Universitas Al-Azhar Mesir. Adapun waktu dan tempat ujian akan diumumkan lebih lanjut.

G. Tim Pelaksana Seleksi

1. Tim pelaksana Pusat dibentuk dan ditunjuk oleh Dirjen Pendidikan Islam.
2. Tim pelaksana Daerah dibentuk dan ditunjuk oleh Rektor UIN/IAIN/Ketua STAIN bersangkutan.
3. Tim Penguji beasiswa ke Sudan ditunjuk langsung oleh Kedutaan Besar Sudan Jakarta.
4. Tim Penguji baik tulis maupun lisan non beasiswa ke Mesir ditunjuk oleh Dirjen Pendidikan Islam dan keputusan tim penguji tidak dapat diganggu gugat.
5. Tim Penguji tahap kedua ke Mesir ditunjuk langsung oleh Rektor Universitas Al-Azhar Mesir.

Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students, Kingston University, UK

We offer up to ten scholarships for undergraduate students for September entry.

The scholarships are open to prospective full-time undergraduate students in any subject area for each year of a three-year course (subject to satisfactory progress). Foundation degree students (first year entry only) are also eligible for the scholarships.

Who can apply?
You can apply for an award if you:

• are an international student (classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes);
• have an offer of a place on an undergraduate degree course or foundation degree course at Kingston for 2012 entry (first year entry only); and
• are not currently registered on an undergraduate course at Kingston University.

How are the scholarships awarded?
Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

• academic merit;
• what you expect to gain from the course you are taking; and
• what you intend to do after completing the course.

How do I apply?

The deadline for September 2012 scholarship applications is 31 May 2012.

Please note that we cannot consider applications received after the deadline. Remember that the scholarships application procedure is separate from the admissions application procedure.

Before you begin your application, please make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. You must:

• be an international student (classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes);
• have an offer of a place on a course at Kingston for 2012 entry; and
• not currently be registered on an undergraduate or postgraduate course at Kingston University.

Please also note that you will need electronic copies of the following documents to make your application online:

• a copy of your Kingston University offer letter;
• an academic reference letter;
• a copy of your academic transcript/worksheet; and
• a copy of your Academic IELTS or TOEFL result (where applicable).

Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students, Newcastle University, UK

The following awards, which are offered by the University, are open to prospective international undergraduate students commencing their studies in September 2012:

International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (IUMS)
IUMS is intended for international students who study for their first degree at Newcastle University. This partial scholarship has a value of £2,250 for the first year of study. Eligible applicants will be considered based on the information given on their UCAS application form.

Eligibility
International students must have:

• applied through UCAS by 30 June and been offered a place to study on one of our degree programmes for 2012/13 entry
• been assessed as overseas for fees purposes
• already achieved or will achieve an agreed level of academic performance in their pre-university qualifications
• already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university

International Family Discounts (IFD)
The University offers partial discounts to close relatives (husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter) of students/graduates, who have been assessed as ‘international’ for fees purposes, and who wish to pursue their studies at Newcastle University or are currently studying here. Each award is worth 10% of the tuition fees per annum for the normal duration of the degree programme payable into the student’s tuition fee account.

Students may only apply for a discount if they are registered as a student at the University or after they have been offered a place to study on their chosen degree programme and have been assessed as international for fees purposes.

Where two family members are intending to start their studies in 2012 or are currently studying at the University, one will be able to apply for an IFD. The value of these awards is 10% of the tuition fees for each year of the degree programme.

International Postgraduate Scholarships, University of Birmingham, UK

What we are offering
The University of Birmingham is offering International Postgraduate Scholarships worth £10,000 towards the cost of tuition fees for a one year masters course. These awards are for tuition fees only and cannot be used for maintenance/living costs.

Who we are looking for
Applicants must have an excellent academic background. Due to the level of competition for these scholarships, only applicants with a 1st class bachelors degree will be considered.

Applicants must also demonstrate excellence in an area of their life. This might be outstanding academic achievement, exceptional achievement in extra curricular activities (such as sport, music, managing events or societies) or significant achievement gained either in their working life or through volunteering and service to others.

Applicants must also outline the contribution they will make to the University of Birmingham as a student and what they expect to gain from studying here.

Eligibility
In order to apply candidates must:

• be overseas for fee purposes
• have applied for a one year full time masters course and have been issued with a student id number
• not be in receipt of a full fee scholarship from any other source
• have made adequate financial provision to study in the UK

How to apply
You must have made an application to study at the University of Birmingham before submitting a scholarship application.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 1 June 2012. Applications will not be accepted if they are submitted to the University after this date.
